STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL AT PLYMOUTH VILLAGE RETIREMENT COMMUNITY.
The
Annual Strawberry Festival at Plymouth Village will be celebrated on
Tuesday, June 1st from 4:00 PM
to 7:00 PM.
All are invited to attend and enjoy an old fashioned “day at the park”.
The festival will be located around the shaded garden and Gazebo at 819
Salem Drive, Redlands. |
Come enjoy live music by the
famous Redlands Fourth of July Band and the talented Riverside Mission
Belles chorus. The Strawberry Festival features fresh strawberry
shortcake and a beverage for $5.00. In addition to the tasty
shortcake, quality handcrafted and boutique items will be for sale.
The Annual Strawberry Festival
was launched in 1965 and continues today with a focus on fundraising that
helps to provide materials and comfort to residents who reside in Plymouth

Redlands, Orton Center. Cocktails, dining, dancing, silent &
live auction, and fun. The event also features "Dancing with
the Stars : Season two, featuring six local "stars" who will
help raise funds for Symphony Programs. Stars ate Carole Beswick,
Amy Vurti, Jon Harrison, Erik Keyser, Cathy Stockton and Sebastien Vallee.

Young Eagles Flight. On Saturday June 12, 2010 the Redlands chapter
of the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association), will be having it's annual Young
Eagles free fly day. the hours are from 9a.m. until 12.p.m. at Redlands
municipal airport 1745 Sessums Drive Redlands. This event is our
chapter's (#845) way of getting young people (ages 8 to 17) to experience
the thrill of flying. After your child has flown, they will then receive a
certificate proclaiming them official Young Eagles. This certificate will
also be entered into the worlds longest log book in Oshkosh, Wi.

4th, 2010 at Shandin Hill Golf Club in San Bernardino. Pre-registration fees are 90.00 per player or 360.00 per foursome.

The San Gorgonio Search and Rescue Team works under the direction of the Sheriffs Department and is a 100% volunteer emergency rescue

Charity Golf Tournament.
When is a round of golf more than just a round of golf? When it’s a
perfect day and you’re playing for a good cause. Building A
Generation’s 4th Annual Golf Fundraiser
will be held Monday, Oct 11 2010 at Redlands Country
Club. Golf packages begin at $175 per person or $600 per foursome,
with additional sponsorship packages available. Golf cart, green fees,
lunch on the course, buffet dinner, and gift bag included for all players.
Putting Contest at 11:00 a.m. with Shotgun Start at 12 Noon. The 5:30 p.m.
dinner program includes a silent auction of sports
memorabilia, a live auction, and several opportunity drawings.
Building A Generation is a non-profit community-based program that has
served the East Valley
of San Bernardino County since 1996. With grant funding from the First
Five Commission of San Bernardino County, Building A Generation
established four Family
Resource Centers within the Redlands
Unified School District. These centers provide services to children
and families in the areas of basic needs, school readiness, and injury
prevention, and are open to all families living in the East
Valley area.
The annual golf fundraiser provides Building A Generation with the means
to increase the programs offered to all elementary age children and to
expand services and support to include middle and high

This is such a great charity. They also have a summer camp called Camp
Erin that some of the money raise will go to. I've seen and heard from
the kids that are affected and are lucky enough to be sponsored by the
Mourning Star Centers and it makes a great difference in their lives. It
takes approx $2,500 to get a child a sponsorship for a year at the Mourning
Star Center and approx. $350 to put a child through "Camp Erin"

the 72nd Annual Lincoln
Pilgrimage, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Redlands, will take place
Sat., Feb. 5, 2011.
Participants
will line up in parade positions at 9 a.m. on the Redlands High
School baseball fields, corner of University Street and Citrus Avenue.
Parade units will step-off at 10 a.m., and march to the Redlands Bowl,
where the program will begin about 11 a.m. If
it is raining between 9 to 10 a.m., then the walking portion of the event
will be suspended, and the program will be held at the RHS Clock
Auditorium, located at Citrus Avenue and Church St. 2011

Watchorn Lincoln Birthday Dinner. More than two hundred years after his birth, Abraham Lincoln continues to
fascinate. Jason Emerson, author of "The Madness of Mary
Lincoln", will speak at this year's dinner about the wife of
President Abraham Lincoln who has always been a controversial
figure. Jason Emerson is an independent
historian and freelance writer living in
Cazenovia, NY. He has published numerous articles and book
reviews in both scholarly and popular publications, links to some of which
can be found on his page, www.jasonemerson.com.
Established in 1932, the Watchorn Lincoln Dinner is one of the
longest running annual dinner events celebrating Abraham Lincoln in
the U.S. It is coordinated by The Lincoln Memorial Shrine, the only
museum dedicated to Lincoln in the west. "Eventhough our costs
are rising we wanted to hold the price of the dinner steady, in order that
founder Robert Watchorn's vision, 'none may be deterred from attending on
account of price' ", said Lincoln Memorial Shrine Curator Don McCue.
Held at the University of Redlands' Orton Center, the evening starts
with a reception at 5:45 p.m. with dinner to follow at 6:30 p.m.

Plymouth
Village, a Continuing Care Retirement Community, is hosting their Seventh
Annual Orange Muffin Festival on the lawn and veranda of Kendall Place
Historic Home, 120 East Palm Avenue, Redlands, on Saturday, April 16th
from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Click

Guests are encouraged to relax on the veranda while
enjoying a large orange muffin with orange butter, baked by Plymouth Village
Chef, Pat Alfaro. This famous
muffin comes from the original Edwards Mansion recipe.
Plymouth Village is the historical site of the Edwards Mansion
(before it was moved to the north side of the 10 freeway).
Along with the muffin and delicious orange butter, guests may select
a beverage of locally grown fresh-squeezed orange juice, coffee, or hot tea-
all for $3.00. Orange muffins
and orange butter may be purchased by the half and baker’s dozen as well.
Plymouth
Village residents will display hand crafted items for sale on the lawn at
Kendall House. The Olde
Curiosity Shoppe, Plymouth Village’s own thrift store, will be open for
business as well and features gently-used items and unique collectibles.
Other participating vendors will be showcasing their boutique items
that will include; home décor,
specialty candles, collectible books and journals, decorative quilts, hand
dyed scarves and art ware, estate jewelry, handcrafted treasures, and gift
baskets -to name a few!
Talented
musician, Benjamin Ordaz, returns this year with his live Andean Music. The
Buttonette’s, a charming group of young ladies from the Yucaipa High
School Madrigals, will perform in close-harmony to the tunes of the 30’s
and 40’s (think- ‘Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy’), and the 66’ers
Baseball Dance Team -featuring their energetic mascot, “Bernie”, will
visit as well.
Plymouth
Village is a 37 acre garden-like retirement community, celebrating over 50
years in the community of Redlands. Plymouth

 | Great All-American Youth
Circus Annual Show! Founded in 1929 by then YMCA Director
Roy Coble, a former Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey performer, the
Great All-American Youth Circus (aka Great Y Circus) is a unique
tradition in Redlands, California. Billed as the oldest community circus
in the world and one of only a handful of programs like it in
the United States, the Great Y Circus started small and has grown to
include over 300 participants of all ages who learn circus
skills in classes held at the YMCA from September through April. Small
performances are given throughout the year before a variety of
audiences, but our end-of-season show, held in Coble Gym at the Redlands
YMCA during the first three weekends in May each year, is our
crowning glory. This year's shows are scheduled as follows:

 | The Eighth Annual Pipes of Spring. The
Kevin R. Blandford Memorial Pipe Band's popular spring concert,
will again make its return on Sunday, May 15th, 2011 at 4 PM at the
University of Redlands Memorial Chapel in Redlands, California.
Preliminary Information, subject to change: The Pipes of Spring is the seventh annual presentation by the Blandford
Band in memory of founding pipe major Kevin R. Blandford and his mother
Madelyn Blandford. The band will present traditional bagpipe and drum
music along with original and majestic arrangements for organ and
bagpipes. Organist Jeffrey H. Rickard, known for both his musical
arrangements and choral conducting at the University of Redlands, will
play the Chapels Casavant organ. Piper Richard Cook, highly sought after
Celtic wind instrument musician, will play the Irish uilleann pipes. The
band will also be joined by 2007 World Champion Drum Major, Jason Paguio,
award winning Highland and Irish dancers and the enchanting vocals of
Juliane Crump and Jennifer Srisamai. The concert is the largest fundraiser
for the Blandford Band and has become a spring time tradition for Celtic
music lovers throughout the Inland Empire. The combination of talent and
musical innovation presented on this stage has awed concert goers
since 2004.
