T-Shirt Art for 2009 Run Through Redlands features historic Watchorn House.  Each year, the RTR Committee selects a historic home or building to feature on the T-Shirt associated with that year's event.  This year, the house selected was the home of Robert and Alma Watchorn, the early Redlands Philanthropists who provided the Lincoln Shrine in 1932 as a gift to the City.  The Lincoln Shrine was not only intended as a tribute to Lincoln, but as a memorial to their son Emory Ewart, who died from injuries suffered in World War I.  The selection of this home is especially fitting this year since Feb 12th 2009 is the 200th anniversary of Lincoln's birth, and Saturday, February 7th, 2009, marks the Boy Scouts of America's 70th Annual Lincoln Pilgrimage.  The featured home is located at 404 Highland, and is currently owned by the parents of Steve Wormser, a past president of the Kiwanis Club of Redlands.

Many past participants of the Run Through Redlands, are aware of the historic importance of the finish line area which sets this event apart from others.  On one side of the street, both the Lincoln Shrine and the A. K. Smiley Library grounds add to event ambience.  On the other side of the street, the Redlands Bowl provides a relaxing venue for the post-race awards ceremony.

The world renown Redlands Bowl began in 1923 with the founding of the Redlands Community Music Association (RCMA) by a woman with a vision - Grace Stewart Mullen.  The Classic stage structure was the gift to the city by Mr. and Mrs. Clarence G. White.   A. K. Smiley Library, which has been in continuious operation  since 1894, was the gift to the city of twin brothers, Albert and Alfred Smiley, whose estate, 'Smiley Heights', is on the 10K and Half-Marathon courses.

2009 Run Through Redlands Date set for April 19th, 2009.  Save the date!  The 26th annual run will take place on Sunday April 19th in 2009, and will continue each year on the third Sunday in April until 2014, when Easter occurs on that date.  More information will be available soon.

2009 Run marks the 26th Anniversary.  The 2009  Run Through Redlands marks the 26th year of this event.  In keeping with the 26th Anniversary Celebration, one of the  NEW features this year is a switch in event timing technology, making it easier than ever to register and run.  ChronoTrack UHF RFID technology will be used for all competitive events. This system provides each registered participant with his/her accurate race time. A Disposable Tag that is attached to the bib for ease of registration. The runner only needs to pick up a bib. No Tag, No time.   There is no need to collect chips after the finish, the runner walks away - No lost chip charges. Tag remains on the runner's shoe.   A  notable change made last year greatly improved the Half-Marathon Course layout to make the 1/2M more appealing and fun by reducing  the steep grades and changing the route to include new scenic areas of the City.
